Monitoring of small mammals in the area of Psehako

Results of monitoring in 2011

In the spring and autumn 2011 gathering of data was organized on species composition and quantitative ratio of small mammals (mouse-like rodents) in this area. Two lines of 100 traps each in the beech and fir forest were set up at the height 1560 m above the sea level which were checked twice a day- morning and evening three days in a row. The area under study is known to be a habitat by three species of small mammals: bush vole, pigmy mouse and Caucasus mouse.
